Mr. Manson is a landlord. I'm sure to some readers that paints him in a very, very negative light. Be assured he's not a bad one - he tends to problems with his rentals whenever they arise, and is understanding about delays in rental payments. He's also a skeleton.
Born in Salem some centuries ago, Charles was a figurehead in his community. He had a loving wife, he was a puritan and had a strong sense of morals and justice... But he wasn't very kind. His life was largely uneventful until a young Brennos Lobhadh moved into his little town, and suspicions of witchcraft began to rise after they had seemingly died off for good. Charles and a horde of angry citizens dragged Brennos from his home and burned him at the stake, much to the protests of Charles' wife.
Spending 300 years in a coffin after a final hex from the vengeful Brennos cursed him to undeath gave him a lot of time to think. Mostly about how terrible he'd been to others. He was dug up in the 60s by a group of rebellious teenagers, and decided to explore the new world he found himself in. He's endlessly fascinated by modern technology, and has since improved his viewpoints to be a much kinder man. He's the reason the Cabaret is as it is now - he found a poor, feral Brennos out on the streets and helped him put himself back together.
